What Is a HYSA and How Does It Work With MMN?

A High-Yield Savings Account (HYSA) is a savings account that typically pays a higher interest rate than a traditional bank savings account. Most HYSAs are offered by online banks or digital divisions of major banks.

In Money Map Navigator™, your HYSA is where your Save It First!™ (SIF) deposits go. Each month, you:

  1. Decide how much you will save first (your SIF amount).
  2. Transfer that amount from your checking to your HYSA.
  3. Track the transfer and growing balance inside MMN.

Over time, your HYSA becomes your safety net, opportunity fund, and financial buffer while MMN helps you manage everyday cashflow, bills, and debt payoff.

Important Notes & Disclaimer

  • Money Map Navigator™ does not hold your money or open accounts for you.
  • You are responsible for choosing your own bank or credit union.
  • Interest rates, terms, and conditions change over time. Always confirm details directly on the bank’s website.

Use the provider that best fits your needs. If you already have a savings account you’re happy with, you can still use MMN to track your SIF deposits there.

When you’ve opened or chosen your HYSA, return to the Save It First!™ section in Money Map Navigator™ and:

  1. Enter the name of your HYSA provider.
  2. Set your monthly SIF amount.
  3. Start tracking your deposits inside MMN.
